Planning a Pregnancy?

DHD#10 provides family planning services to women, men, and teens at low or no-cost. Family planning services help individuals plan for their chosen family size/timing and to prevent undesired pregnancies.

Need a Pregnancy Test?

At DHD#10 women will receive a urine pregnancy test. Testing is confidential, including teens, and no one will be denied service based on inability to pay. Upon result of test a nurse can provide proof of pregnancy, connect you to support resources, proper prenatal care, and or discuss birth control options. During Pregnancy

DHD#10 strives to help women have a healthy pregnancy and delivery. DHD#10 can help pregnant women get proper prenatal care, assist women with breastfeeding, provide in-home support, nutrition support through WIC, and help ensure a healthy lifestyle.

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

Women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or who recently had a baby as well infants and children up to age 5 are eligible for WIC. WIC provides you free healthy food on a WIC Bridge Card. Must live in Michigan and meet income guidelines. Call 800-262-4784 to find the nearest WIC clinic.

Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP)

MIHP provides in home support to pregnant women and infants who are Medicaid eligible.  MIHP will see clients throughout their pregnancies and follow infants to age 18 months.

MIHP staff will help pregnant women and infants with:

  • Making sure pregnant women and infants have proper health care
  • Support from a registered nurse, social worker, or registered dietician
  • Answering questions in-between doctor visits
  • Helping with referrals to quit smoking, drug misuse, housing, finding a counselor, etc.
  • Referrals for childcare, baby supplies, parenting classes, & playgroups

Breastfeeding Support

Breastfeeding is the healthiest way to feed your baby. Breastfeeding classes and support groups are available at all WIC clinics and are led by a Breastfeeding Peer Counselor. The Counselor is also able to provide individual support and education. Breast pump program also available.
