Breast & Cervical Cancer

What services does the program offer?

Through DHD#10 and/or contract providers, women can receive screening including clinical breast exams, pap smears, pelvic exams, screening mammograms (must be 40 or older for screening mammogram).

If a breast and/or cervical abnormality is identified from the screening test/exam, the woman will be referred to community providers for follow-up. Over 75 diagnostic services are provided free of cost through the BCCCNP.

In the event of a diagnosis of breast or cervical cancer, a woman may be eligible for a special Medicaid program through the BCCCNP. If eligible, Medicaid will pay for all of her medical expenses for as long as she is being treated for breast or cervical cancer.

Who is eligible?

  • Women ages 21-64
  • Have NO Insurance or High Deductible Plan
  • Meet the Current Income Guidelines

Forms

Enrollment, Health History, Release of Information and Consent Forms are required on annual basis to enroll in the program. These forms are available at: BCCCNP Forms. Forms will be provided ahead of time if a client is scheduled at DHD#10.

Skin Cancer

What services does the program offer?

In coordination with Spectrum Health Regional Wheatlake Cancer Center Free Cancer Screening Events including skin cancer screenings are offered twice a year. These cancer screenings are for those without insurance. Cancer screenings are offered for both men and women. These cancer screenings are currently offered in Reed City.
