- Everyone ages 13 to 64 should get tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care.
- People with certain risk factors should get tested more often. You should get tested at least once a year.
- Most HIV tests are available for free or at a reduced cost.

National HIV Testing Day, June 27, 2024
Every year, on June 27th, HIV.gov promotes National HIV Testing Day to highlight and encourage HIV testing! This years’ theme is “Level up your self-love: check your status,” emphasizes valuing yourself, showing yourself compassion and respect, and honoring your health needs with self-love. Knowing your HIV status helps you choose options to stay healthy.
