H1N1 Flu Still a Concern

 

Health officials are encouraging people of all ages in all states to get vaccinated to protect them against potential waves of flu activity. Unlike seasonal flu, which is more often fatal to those over 65, the H1N1 strain is affecting younger people. The death rate in this age group is five times that of seasonal flu!

 

Local Health Care Providers and District Health Department #10 are working together in an effort to vaccinate residents for H1N1 influenza. There are several locations where residents may go to receive their vaccine.
 
  • Family Health Care provides vaccination at its locations in Baldwin, Cadillac, Grant, McBain and White Cloud, the Baldwin Teen Health Center and the Adolescent Health Center in White Cloud.
 
  • Northwest Michigan Health Services in Shelby is offering H1N1 vaccine for their patients.
 
  • All offices of District Health Department #10 provide vaccination services and are a great option for anyone without a health care provider.

 

 

In addition to the vaccine being available at your local health department, District Health Department #10 will also be hosting FREE clinics at upcoming community events. Check back often for updates!!
